Hadara Cavalier’s main goal is to breed for Health, Type, and Temperament.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is classed as a toy dog by the American Kennel Club. It is a smaller breed of spaniel, and Cavalier adults are often the same size as young dogs of other spaniel breeds. I have easily traveled with a Cavalier in airplanes from show to show, simply putting them in a “Sturdi Bag” pet carrier and then placing the carrier under the seat in front of me. |

The breed is friendly, affectionate and good with both children and other animals; however, they require a lot of human attention.
In our breeding program, we want our Cavaliers to act like Cavaliers, look like Cavaliers, and live a long and uneventful life. Our Cavaliers have to pass a gamete of genetic and health tests. Some of these tests include our hearts being checked by a board certified cardiologist yearly and our eyes routinely tested by a board certified ophthalmologist.
Hadara Cavaliers are registered with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA and the American Kennel Club. All of our pet puppies are sold on limited papers with both clubs and therefore cannot be shown or bred.

Cavaliers are highly affectionate, playful, extremely patient and eager to please and are good with children and other dogs. Cavaliers are not shy about socializing with other dogs, big or small. They will adapt quickly to almost any environment, person, and location. This ability to bond with larger and smaller dogs makes them ideal in houses with more than one breed of dog as long as the other dog is trained.

Cavaliers are a very versatile dog; great with people of all ages, from children to seniors. Although curious and playful, they like nothing better than to cuddle up on a cushion or lap, making them excellent companion or lap dogs for medical patients and the elderly. I can say from experience that a Cavalier will stick by your side when you are healthy or sick. They truly try to take care of you.
Cavaliers are active and sporting. They have a drive to chase things that will move including vehicles on busy streets, and so most Cavaliers will never become "street-wise". As they tend to regard all strangers as friends, members of the breed will not make good guard dogs.
